Journal of Pedagogical Sociology and Psychology

Peer review process

The Journal of Pedagogical Sociology and Psychology (JPSP) follows a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, objectivity, and fairness of the evaluation for all submitted manuscripts. The process is outlined below:

1. Initial Submission and Screening

Upon submission, all manuscripts undergo an initial screening by the editorial team to ensure:

  • Relevance to the journal's aims and scope.
  • Compliance with submission guidelines (e.g., structure, formatting, and ethical declarations).
  • Sufficient language quality for review purposes.

Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to the authors for revisions or rejected at this stage.

2. Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent for double-blind peer review, where the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. The steps include:

  • The editor assigns the manuscript to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the subject area.
  • Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, methodological rigor, clarity, significance, and contribution to the field.
  • Reviewers provide detailed comments and constructive feedback to help improve the manuscript.

3. Review Outcomes

Based on reviewers' recommendations, the editor makes one of the following decisions:

  • Accept: The manuscript is accepted for publication with minimal or no changes.
  • Minor Revisions: The authors are requested to address minor reviewer comments and resubmit the revised manuscript.
  • Major Revisions: Substantial revisions are required, and the manuscript may be sent for a second round of review.
  • Reject: The manuscript does not meet the journal’s standards or scope.

Authors are notified of the decision, accompanied by reviewer comments and guidance for revisions where applicable.

4. Revision and Resubmission

If revisions are requested:

  • Authors must submit a revised manuscript along with a detailed response letter addressing each reviewer comment.
  • The editorial team assesses the revised submission, and if necessary, the manuscript may be sent back to reviewers for further evaluation.

5. Final Decision

After revisions are complete, the editor makes the final decision on acceptance. Manuscripts approved for publication undergo copyediting, layout formatting, and final proofreading before publication. The final version is published on the JPSP website and made available to the academic community.

6. Ethical Considerations

JPSP adheres to COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines to ensure an ethical and transparent review process. Reviewers are expected to:

  • Maintain confidentiality and objectivity.
  • Avoid conflicts of interest.
  • Provide timely, constructive, and professional feedback.

The entire peer review process typically takes 4–8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the extent of revisions required. JPSP is committed to providing authors with timely and high-quality feedback while maintaining the integrity and rigor of the publication process.
